This vineyard was planted in 2012 based on reading about vineyards in Campania and recognizing that it sounded a lot like the Rockpile AVA here in Sonoma County. The grape also sounded like it had good climate change potential because it ripens slowly and holds acid in warm conditions.

If you know our wines, you know that we tend toward the lighter, less extracted, less bold side of things and we tried that for a few years with this wine, but the fact of the matter is that Aglianico by nature, is a tannic beast. We've tamed the beast to an extent and there is some California sunshine and fruit present, but still Aglianico. Great at the table. 3 barrels produced
