Planted in 1944, this Chardonnay is one of the oldest plantings in the state. A member of the Historic Vineyard Society and CCOF certified the Lolonis Vineyard in Redwood Valley is a gem of a place.
In the cellar, the grapes are whole cluster pressed then cold settled for 5 days before the juice is moved to neutrals oak barrels to ferment naturally. Allowed to complete both fementations it is filtered before bottling.
The 2025 reminds me of lemon curd and peaches straight off the tree. It drinks medium bodied and yet is still refreshing.
