We only produce a Ghostwriter Syrah every couple of years. Smith Road is a pretty marginal spot for ripening Syrah and a lot of years, it just doesn't produce a stand alone wine. 2022 is the first vintage since 2019 that we have bottled one. If you like cool climate lean Syrah, this should be up your alley. Though uniquely Santa Cruz Mountains, there is a strong presence of "Cote Rotie" like roasted slope character, bacon, and maple going on. 50% whole cluster, fermented in a puncheon with the head off, 50% destemmed and fermented in a T-bin. Aged 20 months in barrique. This wine will age well if stored properly. Only two barrels produced. Alc. 12.4%, pH 3.48, TA 7.5
